All marketers can agree, not all marketing is equal. But how exactly do members of the marketing industry really feel about the value of various commonly-used marketing tactics?
That’s what S2 Research set out to explore in this April 2020 Survey of Marketers.
This marketing audience survey was designed to gauge and assess the value and skill of various marketing tactics in use today. Being a fan of including excellent market research into innovative marketing strategies, the survey explores how the marketing industry interacts with market research and various common research tactics as well.
The survey was administered through email and social media outreach, and a total of 278 usable responses were collected from March 9 through April 10.
What we learned in this study.
Marketers overall value “Copywriting and Design,” “Digital Marketing and SEO,” “Social Media Management” and “Market Research” as the most valuable marketing tactics for the marketing process. See Part I of the report for more info.
The overwhelming majority of marketers consider Market Research to be beneficial to the marketing process, but consider themselves generally under-skilled in most modern Market Research Tactics. See Part II of the report for more info.
Agencies, Marketing Consultants and In-House Marketing Teams disagree in the relative marketing value of some common Marketing and Market Research Tactics. The different marketing organization types also have very different skill levels in each of these tactics. See Parts III, IV and V of the report for more info.
